Martin Vallee - Artistic Director and Choreographer
Martin Vallée trained as a dancer at L'Ecole Superieure de Danse du Quebec and the Alberta Ballet School. His professional dance experience includes solo performances with the Alberta Ballet, Calgary City Ballet, Banff Festival Ballet, Ottawa Ballet and The National Folk Ensemble Les Sortileges. In addition to his performances in Canada, Martin's professional career has taken him to the United States and Europe.
Martin has instructed at the International School of Ballet in Calgary and the School of Dance in Ottawa. Since arriving in Newfoundland, Martin has choreographed "Tommy" and co-choreographed Kittiwake Dance Theatre's production of "The Nutcracker".
In September 1996, Martin and Jennifer established Dance Studio East, providing Conception Bay South with its first professional dance studio. They They have two daughters, Zoë and Ana.
Additionally, Martin was appointed Artistic Director of Kittiwake Dance Theatre – Newfoundland and Labrador’s only non-profit dance production company – in January 2007. He is currently president of the Dance Teachers Association of Newfoundland (DTAN).
